News

During the EI crisis and  movement restrictions Fernleigh Front Page was in the stable of Anthony Mountney, where he was supposed to be standing at stud and going out to a few shows and of course that did not happen. One mare, on who was on site, will have the only Flynn foal this coming season and we are looking forward to seeing pictures of that foal.  The mare is Regal Park Prada owned by Stephen MacNamara and is due in October.

Flynn was also broken in during this time by Anthony who has done a wonderful job of his training and looking after my boy for the past year while he was over in NSW, and Flynn will be definitely going back to Anthony at some stage to try and achieve what he was sent over there for in the first place!
Finally the EI movements ban allowed us to bring FLynn back home to SA for the winter months and also just in time for Sydney Royal Horse Classic. Flynn was a part of Anthony's very successful team winning the Part Welsh Led 3yr old colt class and then being declared CHAMPION ENTIRE part bred Welsh exhibit. FLynn also won the riding pony 3yr old colt class, so a very successful show for him.

Flynn arrived back in SA and after a bit of a setback with travel sickness , is now fighting fit and looking fantastic, getting ready to step out at Adelaide Royal in his breed classes, and then stand at public stud here in SA.   At this stage a lot of enquiries have come from NSW for stud and we have not made a firm decision as yet, but he may head over to NSW to Eabs to stand at stud and chilled semen will also be available by arrangement the whole season.

Any enquiries to be directed to Leah via email or phone

Dec 2007.....

There has now been four foals born by Flynn (Front Page)  2 colts and 2 fillies.  ( I will update foals page shortly with photos)

Flynn appears to be really stamping his progeny with stunning heads, all foals born so far have extremely dishy heads, beautiful eye and very upstanding with fantastic neck set.   We are so excited with his foals, and all to different types.

The latest to be born is a stunning bay filly for Tilley Park out of their well known TB mare. (TILLEY PARK DESTINY   Very correct filly with fine bone, and a stunning head.  With the saddle progeny that this mare has on the ground already, being state champions and competing at National level, this foal is sure to be a superstar!   Hayley is most likely to be retired as a broodmare now due to her advancing age, and she has produced extremely well for the stud.  So we are thrilled that her foal is a filly!

TILLEY PARK has also welcomed a lovely brown colt out of their Galloway broodmare Willowcroft Regal Destiny, he is a full brother to Dennis the Menace (Willowcroft Regal Temptation) by W. Regal Emblem, and is equally as lovely.  Tall upstanding colt with looks and movement to be a saddle star of the future.

TILLEY PARK COPYCAT , lovely pony mare by Lia Blackett's gorgeous boy Wynara Valentino, is due to foal very soon to Fernleigh Front Page, we eagerly await the arrival of this foal, watch this space.

October 2007

A stunning colt, first foal by Fernleigh Front Page has been born, check the foals page!

The Equine Influenza has impacted apon all of us in some way and unfortunately our stallion Fernleigh Front Page who was with Anthony Mountney (in NSW) to stand at stud and be shown this season is unable to do so due to the movement standstill.  The mares that were booked to him are unable to come at this stage and semen cannot be collected.  We cant even inseminate our mares here in SA which is very dissapointing.    For those that had booked mares, we will keep you updated if this situation changes.

WILLOWCROFT REGAL TEMPTATION

Tilley Park Stud have a lovely colt, a 2yo this year however, who will be able to cover a few of the mares.  This lovely colt is affectionately known as Dennis the Menace .  He is out of the galloway mare Willowcroft Regal Destiny and by Willowcroft Regal Emblem.  Unfortunately this lovely little man had a paddock accident that has left him with a knee injury and he will never be ridden or shown.
He has an exceptional temperament and will be very handy for breeding some height as he will mature galloway. He is a very compact bodied colt with fine bone and a stunning front and posessing an exceptional temperament to breed ideal saddle horses.  He is very similar in type to his sire and has lovely pony characteristics.  Dennis is taking two lucky mares for outside services this season, enquiries welcome to Helen (details on contacts page) for advance bookings next year.  Watch out for some photos to come soon.

Janderlea Stud News

Janderlea Stud has sold all broodmares but one due to the impending arrival of a second child for the family (Filly called Maddison, born 28/08/07)  The stunning mare Kings Cover Girl has been sold to Lisa Smith of Pemberley Stud in Victoria, to be covered by their lovely stallion Dainhill Royal Bow. She reabsorbed last season and was therefore not put back in foal, so fingers crossed for Lisa!

Yearlings

Janderlea Delta Blue (Oakvale Serenade x Lady Zoe (TB))  has also gone to NSW to Kathy Meharry with the intention of being shown and produced then sold at a later date, but again due to the EI crisis, showing will be delayed.   Check the for sale page soon for photos.  Inquiries welcome, she will be grey and galloway height.

Janderlea Take That (Fairlight Acres Splendor x TB)  a lovely bay colt, to be retained as a future galloway hack, has just been gelded.  Pictures to come.

TB filly on foals page out of Kings Cover Girl, is maturing nicely and is extremely quiet.  Inquiries welcome as she will be offered for sale.

Colt foal out of Fernleigh Spice and by Fernleigh Front Page, to be retained at this stage.

Flynn had a big show season planned in NSW with Anthony Mountney Training Stables, and due to a few setbacks and injuries, uunfortunately only made the last of the two shows, which were the Riding Pony Nationals, and Sydney Royal Show.

Flynn made the top 3 finalists in his class at the Nationals and was 2cnd in the Arabian Derivative colt under 3yrs, and 3rd in the Riding Pony colt class at Sydney Royal..   Anthony  has done a fantastic job with a limited time and a horse who had several setbacks, before he arrived in NSW. I would like to sincerely thank him for a great job with training and conditioning Flynn in such a short time.

Flynn will remain in NSW with Anthony and his great team, to be shown this coming season.  He will also stand at stud during this time, to a limited amount of select outside mares.
